Taunton Deane Disability Discussion Group

The Taunton Deane Disability Discussion Group gives the opportunity for disabled people and their carers living and working in the Taunton Deane Borough Council area to come together to be consulted and informed on a range of issues from different organisations. The group meets twice a year at different venues in Taunton Deane. Speakers are invited to provide information on services giving members an opportunity to raise their views.

The next Taunton Deane Disability Discussion Group will take place on the 4th October from 10.30am until 2.30pm at Compass Wellbeing, Unit 7 Belvedere Trading Estate, Taunton TA1 1 BH, Speakers in attendance and topics to be discussed will be as follows;

  • Devon and Somerset Trading Standards – providing advice on scams etc.
  • Dave Baxter from Somerset Strategic Housing Officers Group– Future Housing Needs discussion. Update on the recent Housing Strategy Consultation and an opportunity to discuss housing need/associated support services for disabled people.
  • Sue Tomlinson from Taunton Deane Borough Council – Providing an update on changes at Deane House.
